I had an amazing time working with the team at Fishpot Studios!
I’m a film producer that needed a professional space in a pinch for a series of interviews that required very dramatic lighting. Fishpot had everything we could dream of — including a stellar warehouse sized space where we could stage and control lighting exactly to our preference. They even provided us with additional lighting equipment that added real production value to our setup.
Plus, their office and meeting spaces were extremely clean, bright and made for an easy production hub. It allowed us to really spread out and host our talent in a relaxed and comfortable environment while they were waiting to get on camera.
Elsa and Josh, who run the space, are the most pleasant and fun people to work with. They’ve worked on tons of large scale film productions and it shows. They were there to help us troubleshoot any issues we had and provide on-site support throughout the day. Couldn’t recommend this place more!
Fish Pot is a spectacular space. Honestly, walking into the studio before our shoot took my breath away. Elsa and Josh, co-owners and managers of Fish Pot, are the most generous people.
I’ve worked a bunch of studios. Been working on independent films, medium-size budget studio films, documentaries, and commercials in New Orleans for the past 4 years. I have to say I wish every single business ran with their style of hospitality and know-how.
On the day of shooting, it was a cold, super dreezily Saturday. Also, our call time was early. When the crew arrived at the studio, Elsa and Josh greeted us with the brightest smiles and cheeriest of moods! They helped us set up, and they made sure our talent felt comfortable and at home for the entire 8 hours of shooting.
Mid-morning and about a quarter into shooting, Elsa checked with me, “do y’all need anything from us?”
“A belt...I really need a belt. My pants aren’t staying up.” I joked. Before I could take it back, Elsa had 3 different women’s belts for me to try on and USE! That belt really did help in the shoot.
The main review I have is this place is incredible. It is equipped and can be tailored to any type of shoot: narrative, commercial, documentary. More importantly, the folks running Fish Pot, Elsa and Josh, know what they’re doing. They cheerful and ready for whatever you’ll throw them!
Highly recommend this studio above all others in New Orleans!
